With great pleasure and humility, I want to thank all Sarnia Malayalee Association members for electing me as your president in the year 2023. I take this opportunity to welcome all the executive members and look forward to working with you as a group.

Sarnia Malayalee Association (SMA) is a non-profit, non-political, secular and cultural organization. SMA endeavours to provide recreation, cultural and leisure time activities to improve the quality of life for the association members. In addition, SMA aims to impart the Malayalee heritage culture and values to the youth in the community and integrate them with the multicultural society of Ontario.

The purpose of SMA is to bring together persons of Kerala origin and others who have an affinity for Malayalee Culture and thereby develop a better understanding and friendship in such community, promote multiculturism as an essential aspect of Ontario life and specifically facilitate the interchange of culture and traditions between Malayali’s and Ontarians of other ethnic origins, showcase and promote Malayali culture and integrate it with the Canadian society, preserve and protect Malayalee culture and values for the benefit of the future generations of Malayalees in Ontario, develop and benefit children by encouraging participation and involvements in activities and events.

SMA conducted its official inauguration and Onam celebration on Sep 2, 2023. The event was a great success, and I sincerely thank the executive members and all the associate members and volunteers for making this event a great success.
